The Crown Beyond the Sea

Synopsis

When Prince Arthur of Angloria dies, his young widow, Princess Catalina of Espaniola, finds herself stranded in a foreign court, surrounded by scandal, suspicion and an uncertain future. After a little over a year of political uncertainty, she makes a decision that shocks both kingdoms: she returns to her homeland. But Espaniola is hardly the sanctuary she remembers. Her mother, Queen Isabella, is gravely ill, her father, King Fernando, is dangerously ambitious, and her elder sister, Juana, is struggling beneath the weight of an uncertain crown. As death, succession disputes and courtly rivalries threaten to tear her family apart, Catalina must navigate a kingdom where even blood ties are forged through ambition. Then an unexpected alliance with a younger prince of the mighty Imperial House of Aurelian offers her a different future. A new marriage. A distant empire. A chance to begin again. But can a princess ever truly escape the politics of her birth?
